05/18/2006: "Bathroom update"
Good news! We're back to being a two-commode family!
I've got a list of things to do, the biggest thing is to put in the sink. I opened the box for it last night and, what do you know?, it was the wrong sink!
I took it back to Menard's and they were just as surprised as I was. It turns out that they don't even sell the pedestal sink that they delivered to me.
The woman at the return desk said that maybe someone returned the wrong item, and that got me thinking. I had to do the return after I put my daughter to bed, so I showed up 30 minutes before closing. That is one trick that crooks use to ensure success: they show up late and are able to get through the harried salespersons defenses. So, I'm waiting for my new sink and start worrying that I'm going to be accused of some nefarious deed. It may sound paranoid, but I used to get followed around malls by security because of my appearance, and old habits die hard.
Anyway, I still need to put the sink in, add all of the accoutrements (including one of those neat, curved shower rods), and put in the new door and trim. As of tomorrow, my two-day project has lasted two weeks, but at least I can be clean again.
