05/08/2006: "A little closer"

I had hoped to get the bathroom finished yesterday, but some plumbing complications coupled with the fact that my friend couldn't help me for 48 hours has caused me to be a bit behind. I was able to take a shower last night, so my wife didn't make me sleep outside. That was nice.

I've also promised to have the toilet in by tomorrow night. Living with one commode is a pain. Especially when you have to time your trips around a toddler's sleep schedule.

By the time I go to bed tonight, I hope to have the drywall up and mudded and all of the holes in the walls patched. Whoever did the last remodel in this bathroom got a little carried away with the molly bolts. Do you really think that four wall anchors are needed to hold up the TP roll? They must have used a much nicer brand than we do, because I'm pretty sure we could hold up a normal roll with a couple of thumb tacks.
